Hi I’m Bill McGovern, owner of 1st Call Heating and Air. We are troubleshooters in the HVAC arena with decades of experience. We are dedicated to finding the problem, fixing the problem, and getting out of your way, in a timely manner. We repair air conditioners and furnaces, first, and if it fails within a year, we will teach you how a new system will benefit you and be more cost effective. If you choose to go with a new system, we will refund your initial service call because we do not double dip. Bill McGovern has decades of experience in the arena of troubleshooting HVAC issues. He used to work for one of the biggest plumbing and heating companies in the Denver area before deciding that it was more gratifying to own his own company. Bill likes being the end person, responsible for all the work done by his company. He has say in all aspects of the business and wants the customer satisfied. He does the estimates for service and installation, and the part he likes the most is doing the service and repair work for customers. Because Bill has worked for several large Denver HVAC service companies, he knows how a smaller business can be more beneficial to customers. He can take the time to educate the customer about their equipment, show them where the problem is, explain how he will fix it, and show them how to maintain it properly. Shannon Calhoun: Co-Owner, Office Manager
Shannon is responsible for taking care of all the administrative needs for 1st Call Heating and Air. She brings years of experience with bookkeeping, office and project management, marketing, and customer service to the 1st Call team. With Shannon managing the office, customers can be confident that their heating and cooling needs will be met in a timely manner, with professionalism and courteous service.
Erik Starace: Service Technician
Erik joined the 1st Call Heating and Air team in the Fall of 2013. Under Bill’s supervision, Erik is learning how to treat customers the same way Bill does by educating them about their furnace and/or air conditioner maintenance needs and explaining what type of repair needs to be done and why it needs to be done. Erik enjoys the “hands-on” type of work that HVAC service technicians do every day and making customers happy when he leaves and their home is warm or cool again.
Steve Hadar: Service Dispatcher
Steve recently joined the 1st Call Heating and Air team to answer phone calls and schedule requests for service. Steve and Bill have known each other for many years and have been looking for an opportunity to work together. Due to the rapid growth of 1st Call Heating and Air over the past year, the company now needs someone to make the schedule for Bill and Erik. Steve has many years of experience with customer service in a variety of industries.
We are a pet-friendly company and the 1st Call team includes three Labradors, Sirius, Abigail, and their daughter, Samara. Having our dogs around reduces stress in hectic times and their presence reminds us daily to be the best we can be, loyal and dependable, and always keep a positive attitude.
