Great customer service! No complaints! My furnace broke down on a Sunday, the night before a big snow storm. I left a voicemail on Sunday and Diane (very nice and personable) returned my call first thing Monday. The soonest availability they had was Tuesday. Andrew came out to look at my hazardous furnace (as deemed by Xcel Energy). He was very nice and informative. When my HOA had a problem with the plans for a HE furnace, Andrew came back out to my house to find a solution with Bill, the owner. They were able to install my new furnace next day, no problem. I let them inside in the morning and trusted them enough to head off to work and let them do their job. My mom was at the house when they finished up and they showed her everything and gave lots of tips for the future. I feel like the pricing was fair, too. I will use them again in the future for sure. I am a general contractor by trade, yesterday was one of the hottest days of the year and one of my clients had their air-conditioning go out.
I went over and took a look at it and it was beyond my scope of work so we called Bill at 1st Call Heating and Air, and they send a tech out right away. The tech was not able to service the unit so and hour later bill the owner of the company came out himself and got the unit running.

I own several houses and have always used "big name" HVAC companies. I'm tired of the crazy prices and technicians who only want to sell me equipment. So, for my new house in Highlands Ranch I went with the reviews and chose 1st Call. Bill was awesome. I needed an education on my new home's systems. He was so nice, thorough and answered all my questions (and I had a LOT). He performed a routine maintenance call while he was here and I'm good to go. Additionally calling the office is a breeze. Most recently, he first walked me through a procedure to attempt a simple fix to my furnace. When that didn't work, he had me take a photo of the likely offending part and text it to him. No one likes having to call for heating and air condition service, I always think I am going to get ripped off for services that are not needed. This was NOT the case when I worked with 1st Call. I got great service from Aquanet the office manager, she quickly got me an appointment with Bill to service my AC unit. I'm not one to write a review...in fact, this could be my first but I felt compelled. What I can say is this - I got a bid from 'another' heating and cooling outfit (one of the largest in town) who quoted me an outrageous number to fix my AC blower. They knew they had me over a barrel as it was the day before 4th of July holiday - and their pricing showed it.
Called 1st Call Heating - spoke to Bill. First, he was happy to walk me through step by step the items that would need attention & why. Professional, courteous and obviously knowledgable. Second, I thought I needed a new furnace - he suggested to fix the one I have (talk about honesty & integrity - you can imagine it saved me a bunch of $$). Without hesitation, Bill came out and fixed my AC on July 4th without charging me an extra 'service fee' or 'holiday fee'. He was also 1/4th the price of the 'other outfit'. Same outcome. So glad I called. #winning.

Had a minor gas leak in the inlet for my furnace, diagnosed by Xcel.
Contact 1st Call on a Sunday and they were able to make it by within an hour (luckily they were not too far from me at the time).
Bill had the leak repaired within 40 minutes, VERY reasonably priced, and super easy to deal with.

Our A/C was moved by our HOA, and didn't work the same after. We rang up 1st Call to check it based on the reviews here, and Bill explained that the compressor was shot.
He told us that we'd save money with a complete replacement and gave us an estimate. But he did not charge us for the visit or for checking out the unit -- he won me over with that.
After calling around and confirming his was a competitive rate, we asked him to complete the job.
To our surprise, he installed a larger unit for less money than what others were quoting.

Guys showed up pretty close to the quoted time. They were upfront about the potential cost of having an older unit as well. Fortunately it turned out to be a bad gas valve and they were able to swap it out in about 45 minutes.
Called them at 730am, they made it in by 3pm and heat was back on by 3:45pm

We need idea of what it would cost to rectify an issue that was brought up during a home inspection for a furnace and gave these guys a try. Steve, Eric and the owner (Bill) were great to work with - something we though could be a potential major issue was easily resolved - Bill took took the time to explain the potential problem and as well as explained possible future concerns as the age of the furnace was nearing the end of it's life span - with out leaving us feeling like we were being sold something we didn't need.

I wish we would have known to call 1st Call, first. We were about to be ripped off by another HVAC company when my neighbor (god bless him) recommended (demanded) that we call 1st Call and get Bill's opinion before we replace our whole system. What was going to be a $10k repair was handled by 1st Call for less than $600.
Bill from 1st Call is a seasoned pro and quickly isolated the problem with our A/C unit. He replaced our blower motor and saved us a huge unnecessary expense. Hands down the best customer service experience we've had in a long time. Our heater went out right before what the weathermen are predicting to be a very cold snow storm. We called Bill at 1st Call and left a message. He called us back within 10 minutes and although he couldn't come out because he was already booked, he took the time to diagnose our problem and walk us through a fix on the phone. The entire staff at 1st Call me was very professional and when my furnace broke down they came out the next day and resolved it without ordering any replacement parts. A piece had broken off and not allowed the flames to come on and so they fixed it by using another inlet hole which saved me lots of $$$. Overall, have used them twice for service and very good! Would definitely use this crew again. Bill was very pleasant on the phone and despite my originally requesting to look at our unit the following day, he actually offered to come and look at it later that afternoon/early evening when they finished their other appointments, as it was going to be on his way.
They called ahead, were on time, and quickly solved our problem. During the process, Bill and Tony walked us through every step they took to let us know what they were doing and why. This fact alone is impressive these days with everyone rushing to get done and move on, and was much appreciated!

Our boiler went out sometime early Sunday morning. I called these guys as they were one of the few HVAC service companies open on Sunday. Steve answered immediately and said that he'd send a tech out in a few hours. He also explained to me that while they do not charge extra for Sunday service calls, if we needed parts, then the distributors would charge at least $100 to open on Sunday. I appreciated the heads up on additional charges.
Steve called back about 5 minutes later and apologized, but that the tech he had available that day does not service boilers, only furnaces. He apologized and said that the owner, Bill, is the boiler expert and that he was out of the area until Monday. He offered to come by first thing Monday morning. Actually, I was ok with Monday - even though it was freezing in our house - because I probably wouldn't have authorized a $100 special parts request on a Sunday. Not a big deal, really, we were going to be out of the house most of the day anyway.
Bill and Steve promptly showed up before 9am on Monday morning. Bill pulled the cover off the boiler and immediately saw the problem. He fixed it quickly, taking the time to explain the system to us. They also stayed a bit to make sure that the radiators were all warming up and that our hot water system was working correctly. Our issue was a relatively quick fix, requiring no parts replacement and Bill threw in a quick service at no extra charge. All that cost us $100.
These guys take incredible pride in their work. I will definitely call them if we have problems again.

I had some guy come and look at my furnace in June and he told me it was pillows and earrings well he never showed up to fix it. I called 1st Call and Bill came out and told me it was pulleys and bearings. He didn't have any nitrogen so he told me he had to come back. He was going to another appointment and he would call me. He called me back in about 15 minutes. He was on his way back. He fixed and cleaned the furnace all for $79 what a deal and all this right after having cataract surgery the day before

The furnace started acting up during the holidays; when it was super cold. I called in, and to my surprise, an appointment was setup for the same day (12/28/2015) - I was expecting they would schedule something until the new year. It was time to breathe some life into my 15+ year old air conditioner. I called some other Heating and Air Conditioning companies and many wont even give a rough estimate over the phone.
When you call 1St Heating and Air the first person you talk to is Steve. Steve is really a great guy to deal with-ethusiastic, honest, and took his time to explain things. I called about my air conditioner but Steve suggested that I also get maintenance on my furnace as well. Thanks Steve! The blower motor was super dusty/dirty and it was close to burning out(it's $500 to replace)-following your advice saved me money avoiding an impending repair bill. I posted a picture of the blower motor on Yelp. Steve was really good to work with-I wish all companies had someone like him.
Bill arrived on time and went to work right away on the furnace. Bill took the time to not only clean the furnace(and most importantly the blower motor). But Bill also noticed that the filter was lifting up and added a piece of metal to keep it in place. He took the time to take a photo of the blower motor before and after the cleaning-and explained that a clean blower motor prevents it from burning out and costing $500 to replace. Bill takes the time to look for things and take measures to prevent problems in the future.
The next thing Bill and his assistant did was work on the air conditioner. It was too cold to add freon (I will do that latter). But now the central air blows out cold air-before he worked on it it did not.
Bill knows a lot about heating and air conditioning and his experience really shows. It's nice that he takes time to prevent problems in the future and takes time to explain things.
I really recommend1st Call Heating and Air for anyone needing their air conditioning and heating worked on.

Where to begin! I had originally called them a couple weeks ago for a different issue. They took a look and made some suggestions for me free of charge. More recently I had a pretty significant heating failure making our house pretty much unbearable with the weather as of late. Steve (dispatcher) fit me in that same day. Bill stopped by and immediately recognized the issue. Told me what I needed and to give them a call if I needed them to pick up the part and fix it. Although I ended up going thru my home warranty, as it was an expensive part, Bill and Steve said not to worry about it and refused to take any payment. I will definitely use them in the future.

Absolutely awesome! We had another company come out to see why our furnace wasn't working and after a diagnosis it was a $400 repair that he would need to order in the parts "but it probably won't last and we would need to replace it." Of coarse this meant a minimum of $6500 for a like replacement. So, to Yelp I went, and couldn't be happier with finding 1stCall! Bill came out and within a few minutes diagnosed the problem and it was a simple reset he needed to do. $175 later, the heater works great and there is a warranty for a year on it! So, the wife and I are both out on assignments away from home for the last week or so. She comes home and it's pretty cold in the house. The furnace is working, but not really heating. My very first call is to, 1ST Call Heating and Air. Brian and Eric show up promptly, and have the issue resolved in no time flat. The furnace had become pretty dirty over time. The motor had an accumulation of dust etc; and a valve was becoming clogged. Our furnace stopped working this morning, and with snow in the forecast for tonight, I was very anxious to get it fixed ASAP. After the first 2 places I called didn't answer their phones, I called 1st Call and the owner, Bill, answered. He was very friendly and helpful. He sent a great technician, Bryan, over right away. Bryan figured out the problem and replaced the part quickly. He also gave me a very reasonable estimate on replacing my old rusty furnace with a new one, but he didn't pressure me to do it. My overall impression is that 1st Call is a reliable company that will not overcharge you or try to convince you to do work you don't really need.

Well, Bill does.
We were having another one of those freaky late April cold snaps where it was actually snowing. So, I cold called (heh!) him at 1st Call after seeing his reviews here. I didn't get a secretary or a subordinate, I got the owner on his cell phone within 3 rings. As a businessman, Bill put my needs before making any kind of sale or service. He talked me through a solution before he even knew my last name or how much I was willing to spend to keep my toddler from turning into a son-cicle. After 15 minutes, it still wasn't working. So, Bill arranged to pick up a part on his way over (low pressure sensor), but it ended up being a burnt out circulating motor. He was back 20 minutes later and before noon, he had the heat running again.
And a nicer professional I have never met!
He gave me confidence that he was trying to make a solution rather than a buck.
I hope I never have to see him again, but if we ever have a crisis again, he'll be the first guy I call.

Fast and furious HVAC superhero to the rescue. Bill marched into my house at 8am the morning after I called him with an A/C meltdown during the hottest week of the summer. Like a pit crew at the Indy 500, he went to work on my failed compressor. Diagnosis: dead. But like a miracle worker, he was determined to exhaust all possibilities of reviving my dearly departed air conditioning unit, returning to my house later in the day with more equipment. After another round of CPR, he pronounced her dead, again, and provided a quote for replacing ole' Bessie: $600 lower than I'd been quoted by a competitor. As I pictured myself rolling in the ice cold dollar bills I would save with Bill, we scheduled an appointment for the following afternoon. I was assured I would return from work after a dreadfully hot week to a cold house. I did, with a warm heart. Thankful that Bill--motivated by his sheer volume of panicked customers, an incredible work ethic, or his light-speed, type-A personality--got me back up and running in 48 hours flat.
Should your shit hit the air conditioning fan at the perfectly wrong time, I highly recommend you call this home appliance wizard.

We have an old forced air furnace that decided not to work as soon as the nighttime temps dropped into the 30's. Called 1st Call on Monday am, got a call back within a couple of hours from Liz. Service visit was scheduled for Wednesday between 9-11am. Bryan showed up at 9am on the nose and within an hour had us up and running for only the $79 Yelp special service and troubleshoot fee. Bryan was great. Other HVAC companies that I called for a scheduled service appointment have still not even returned my call. I'd highly recommend these guys for any HVAC needs.

His name was Bill and he was super helpful and nice. He asked me about the issues I was having and tried to fix them over to phone so I wouldnt have to pay someone to come out. The issue I had needed more attention so Bill came out to fix my AC system. He was on time and professional. I would recommend him to anyone looking for HVAC issues.

Bill was fantastic! Our water heater had stopped operating. After a couple of weeks of trying to re-start it, it had failed. I called Bill for service he was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and immediately gave me a recommendation on a part and scheduled an install the following two days. When the part arrived, Bill installed it within an hour and we have not had any problems with the water heater since then. It's now been a couple of months. I will be seeking Bill's expertise for future utility concerns....I highly recommend him.

Bill literally just left my house and I didn't want to wait to post my review. He is one of the most friendly and honest contractors I have ever hired. I had an issue with my central air and he diagnosed/fixed the problem in under 30 minutes...we talked football for another 30 minutes (unrelated). Not only did he fix my a/c, but he showed me what was wrong and taught me a thing or two about air conditioning. I spoke to Steve this morning who set my appointment and he was extremely helpful and such a nice guy. We set the appointment up for the afternoon and now my house is like a meat locker. Can't say enough good things about this company...if you need an honest, reliable, and friendly company, don't look any further.

Bill and Eric are awesome. They came out and installed a new AC unit a year ago and we were really satisfied with their work. Then the unit stopped working. They fit me in the day after I called and quickly identified the issue as a coating of cottonwood gunk from the surrounding trees, which caked the inside of the unit. They had it cleaned up in about 15 min and even taught me how to do it myself next year. These guys are awesome and will be our go-to HVAC guys from here on out. Highly recommend.

Great! Bill and Erik, installed an AC unit and Humidifier on to my existing furnace. I had called around spoke with others companies and a few others had come out and bid the work before them. They can be hard to schedule but I think this is a sign as to the kind of work they are doing. I can't tell you how happy I am that I did wait and had them bid and then do the work. Don't give into high pressure and fast sale coupons of some of the other guys call Bill and Erik and they will take care of you.

Aside from echoing all the great and positive reviews already listed I can simply say WOW and THANK YOU. I'm certainly not a technician and was struggling with an inoperable AC unit. Called Bill early morning and in a few hours he showed up with Erik (his trusted assistant). Very quickly diagnosed the issue and just as quickly resolved it. More impressive that he not only repaired the issue and handed me an invoice but took the time to explain the issues and the steps he was taking to resolve. I want to say I was more educated after he left but it was probably way more technical for me than I can handle... None the less was extremely impressed... And service was reasonably priced. 1st call should be your first and only call!!!

Awesome guys, very quick, take credit cards, charged only $150 for a capacitor change. Big mikes was going to charge $460 for a 30 buck part and 30 min labor. Everyone else was in the $250 range. These guys are fair, knowledgeable and really nice to boot. Highly recommend.

Bill and Tony installed a new furnace for us. They had the AC running again within 2 hours so I wouldn't sweat upstairs while they continued to hook up the gas etc for heat. They came back the next day when the kids were in school (as to avoid them having to breathe badness) to run the heat in order to burn off some coating and make sure everything was working fine.
I also wanted them to install a WIFI, smartphone controllable Ecobee thermostat that has rather extensive wiring diagrams. Bill said that he had never installed this type before (though he had installed Nests). He wanted to make sure he got the wiring right and asked to take the thermostat home over the weekend to consult his buddy. I appreciated that he wanted to make sure he understood the technology instead of just jumping in. Bill and Tony installed the thermostat first thing this morning with no problems.
All in all - what a great experience! They are courteous, very approachable, called ahead when they were going to be there. Always showed up on time. After they cleaned up the furnace room it was cleaner than it ever has been. And they take pride in what they do. Oh, and their price was very competitive with the other 2 bids that I got.

My furnace stopped working on a 20 degree day. 1st Call sent Byran out to my house the same day, he was awsome and fixed it in about 20 minutes. The price was VERY reasonable. It's an older unit and he answered all my questions about replacing it and gave me some good advice about keeping it running until I get my finances in order. Will use again.

These guys are awesome. I called them with my issue and they arrived at my door 30 minutes later. Bill came out and checked my 19 year old furnace that wasn't igniting on first attempt, and sometimes putting out natural gas through my vents without igniting. A bit scary, but he was able to diagnose what the problem was exactly (faulty flame sensor). Since my unit is likely nearing the end of its life, I got a quote on a replacement unit that was a quarter of the price from competitors for when it actually does die. 1st Call will definitely have my future business.

Wouldn't you know that the furnace would stop working on one of the coldest days this year! If you're like me, it's hard to know who to call or trust when something in your house breaks. I called Bill, around 9 A.M. on a Saturday morning and he said he would be at my house by 11:15 A.M. True to his word, he showed up on time! For some, that may not mean much but I think if you can't trust someone to show up on time they are already off to a rocky start in my books.
As many other reviewers noted, Bill was very good about talking me through what his troubleshooting procedure was to help find a solution. He paid attention to the details when he was working. I could only imagine how easy it would be for someone to take advantage of me when I have NO knowledge about a furnace. I was also worried about the level of cost that would be associated with the repair/replacement of a furnace. After 45 minutes of narrowing down the problem, Bill concluded that the flame sensor had gone out. In the process of replacing the sensor, he THOROUGHLY cleaned the burners to ensure everything was firing up correctly. Bill was considerate of my time and was able to finish the job quickly. The services rendered were at a reasonable and affordable cost. I couldn't be happier (or warmer).
I am very thankful to have found someone as honest, reliable and good at what they do to help me when I was in a pinch. I will be using Bill again if I ever need help in the future.

Definitely make 1st call your first call! They serviced my furnace back in February and I appreciated their work then. First when I called to get someone to come by to check my furnace, they were on top of it and kept me informed of who and when they would come. While there, they explained everything they were doing and gave me a heads-up about a potential future concern. I just had this concern become a problem and I called them right away. They are are just great! I got to meet Bill the owner who is a fantastic guy; he doesn't try to push a sale and just gives you the different options you may have based on the issue. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend calling 1st call for your AC and Heating needs. I found them on Yelp through the large number of positive reviews and decided to call them when our furnace igniter went out this past winter. The office staff is hands down one of the best I have come across. They are personable, polite, and do not make you feel rushed when describing your issue and trying to make a decision. The technician they sent came out quickly and helped get the heat back on and was professional and reasonable. I am writing this review after our second interaction with 1st Call. Our AC unit blew up on us and we dialed 1st Call to come out and take a look at it. Bill, the owner, came out quickly and tried a number of things to see if the compressor could be saved; unfortunately, it could not. He was able to give us complete details on AC units and was upfront about costs. I know nothing about AC units but Bill makes you feel at ease and you truly get a sense that 1st Call puts the customer first. Bill goes above and beyond to ensure the job gets done correctly and again the office staff is top notch. Definitely give them a shot at your business should you ever need HVAC services.

Bill came out to check out my non-working AC unit faster than anticipated. He found a power problem that he quickly fixed. After that, he took the time to make sure my refrigerant levels were good. Thru his initiative, he found that there was a break in one of the refrigerant lines in the basement. This could be costly, so Bill gave me a range of options for my budget. He tried his best to fix my old line, but he couldn't, so he replaced my coil with a used one which saved me $$. He was very responsive to phone calls and had the work done the next day. We moved to Denver this past summer and the house we bought was great except for the fact that the 20 year old air conditioning system could no longer handle hot days. I called some of the major HVAC places in town and they couldn't do the work for weeks. We couldn't wait that long and I called Bill and he came out and gave us an estimate of what it would cost to replace the entire system the next day. His bid was competitive and he explained everything he was going to do. I appreciated the fact that he took the time to explain his thought process and why certain elements would or would not work. To give him more room to work with I also had him install a tank less hot water heater and I also had him install a whole house humidifier. He installed the largest HVAC unit that would fit and completely redid our HVAC closet. He even ran into a plumbing problem with a drain which he snaked and continued the install. He had the A/C going after the first day of work and got the rest, including the tank less hot water heater working on the second day. The A/C ran beautifully and cooled the house down considerably. This winter the furnace worked like a champ even on the coldest days and the whole house humidifier kept the house in the 30 - 40% humidity range on normal operation.
After the HVAC experience I had such confidence in Bill, I had him install a whole house water filtration system which also went well. Bill even called months later to check in on how everything was going.

Yes, it was 7am on May 10, 2015 (Mother's Day) I went out to my garage to find it was filling with water. I had figured out it was coming from my hot water heater, but had no clue how to turn off the water. In a panic I went out to Yelp and read some of the wonderful reviews on 1st call. Without even think how early it was I called. The gentleman on the other end must have sensed I was in a panic. He immediately walked me through turning off the water and let me know he would take care of it. Shortly thereafter Bill showed up at my house and advised me the hot water heater needed to be replaced. Bill walked me through everything he was doing. He even assisted in getting the standing water out of the garage. I was afraid how much this would cost especially on a holiday. Time to pay the bill. No charge for Sunday or Holiday call. The price was very reasonable. Best part was the service, and it was the owner that came out. Thank you Bill. I have posted his business card on my Facebook as I highly recommend this company.

I contacted Bill about replacing my furnace which was 30+ years old. The estimate I received from Community Plumbing and Heating was much better than the 2 other companies who also provided bids. I opted for Community Plumbing and Heating. Bill did such a fantastic job of installing my new furnace that I recently asked him to replace my old air conditioner. His estimate was again the price I paid without "extras" that many add on. He educated me on proper care of my new air conditioner (as he did the furnace), he showed up on time, cleaned up after himself and even followed up with me to make sure everything was working properly. Bill and Tony came by to service AC and Furnace a couple of hours after I called them, very prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable ... I am one of those customers that peppers any service guy with a million questions to gain a better understanding of what is being done, or perhaps, what I'm doing wrong with my 'whole house systems'. Bill pointed out that I shouldn't run the humidifier attached to furnace while running AC ... and helped me make up my mind for a good humidifier 'add on' for when I replace the furnace hopefully far off into the future. When you read this you might find it hard to believe. That said, I can assure you this review is completely accurate and true. I arrived home from work last night around 8pm to a downright chilly house. I normally keep it cool (63 degrees) but right away noticed that it felt cold even to me. When I checked it was 57 degrees and the furnace was cycling on and off but no heat (could hear that the blower was not kicking on). I pulled up Yelp to check out some reviews of HVAC companies so I could find some help. 1st Call had so many positive reviews I figured they had to be at least average. Much to my pleasant surprise they were well-above average. I called and left a message explaining the problem. About 20 minutes later I received a call from the owner (Billy). I explained that my furnace is in the dirt crawl space (I live in an older ranch style home). Billy asked if I was comfortable going down in the crawl space (I answered "yes" as I have spent many hours doing various projects down there). He then proceeded to guide me through diagnosing and ultimately fixing the problem (a clogged blower nozzle). During the process, Billy had me text him photos all the while explaining what I needed to do next (amusing side-note: it turns out he was directing me as he was playing pool at home with his wife!). Within 45 minutes I had a working furnace and a much more comfortable home. I kept shaking my head last night thinking how lucky I was to have made these guys my first call (pun intended). I am a single father of two young kids and do not have money to throw around and no doubt saved at least a couple hundred bucks. I will absolutely be using these guys for any future issues with my furnace and when it is time to replace, they will get my business.

Six 5-star reviews on Yelp cannot be wrong. It wasn't. I called Bill late in the afternoon on the 4th of July. I left a message and he called me back within 5 minutes and apologized that he didn't answer the phone. Really? On a holiday a contractor calls me back? And apologizes? I about fell over! Our AC hadn't been working and my SO thought (hoped) it was the furnace fan. Bill asked us to text him some photos so he could pick up the right part on the way over the next morning. So you're also saving me a trip charge? Unbelievable. And he showed up 5 minutes early this morning (July 5), replaced the fan (that WAS the problem), checked the AC unit to make sure it had freon (it did), then showed us some other tips to keep the house cool. I do not tolerate heat well, and our house is again cool and comfortable! His price was the same as another bid, and he was in and out in 1 1/2 hours. Very nice and polite and I definitely recommend him. Thanks Bill!
